Training on In-situ Moisture Conservation Technology for Enhancing Productivity
One day training on “In-situ Moisture Conservation Technology for Enhancing Productivity” was conducted at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (IISWC) Sunabeda, Koraput, Odisha under “Establishment of Biotech-KISAN Hub for aspirational districts of Eastern Plateau and Hills, and Western Hills” funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. This program was organised to share knowledge among the project team scientific staff about soil and water conservation measures and to identify the best soil and water conservation practices that is being adopted by the farmers in their fields. About 15 scientific staff participated in the programme including the project /scientist from MSSRF, Jeypore, Young professional working in the projects, scientific staff from IISWC, Koraput. The programme was inaugurated with the lightening of lamp followed by presentation and discussion on principles of soil and water conservation and options. In the afternoon session, the participants visited the fields in the selected villages namely Janiguga, Bariguda, Ektaguda, Sundhiguda, Dangri Maliguda and Gurumaiguda. During the field visit the scientific team of the project learned about good management practices being followed by the farmers and interacted with them.
